This Device They Call a Blog....

I find myself stepping into a foreign world. A world which is largely unknown in my land, but a world that is already highly populated and bustling with life! It is my hope that this, my own contribution to the "new world", will not be fruitless or useless, but a meaningful addition to be remembered. Stay as long as you like!

Christmas Eve and an Excited God

Last night, during Mr. Rouse's message at the Christmas Eve service, I was struck by how God, and probably Jesus, and the angels, must have all felt that night Jesus was born.

I mean, they were all there when Adam and Eve were created, and it was the grandest time anyone on this earth's ever had.

They were also there when the two human image-bearers decided that they wanted something that sounded better, and ended up getting the worst deal possible. Even though God knew it would happen, I can't imagine that there wasn't some sadness involved in the heavenly places.

All through the ages, prophets would come, angels would appear, and God would use various circumstances to point to the coming of a human Savior. But only God knew the timing on that one! What about the angels, constantly serving but just wondering "how long Lord? How long until you finally set your master plan in motion?"

And then, the night came. It's almost like opening night for the biggest Broadway production ever. And God's plan got seriously underway. Thousand of years of anticipation and foretelling were, at LONG last, beginning to unfold!

What would it have been like to hear those angels singing to the shepherds? What they said was just about the most natural thing to say, considering the situation. "Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth, peace among men on whom His favor rests!" God was firing up Phase 2 and it was EXCITING!

(continued from Christmas morning...)

So, are we as excited about the Savior coming as they were? And we even get to see the whole picture front to back! Perhaps we're in need of an enthusiasim adjustment... :)

Life...

Man, I have not posted in forever! I had a great Thanksgiving, and hope you all did as well. I am really looking forward to this Christmas season and all it may bring. Speech class isn't easy, but I am enjoying my duo with Rachel A. quite a lot. I am so thankful for all the awesome opportunities God has given me, for the unfathomable ways He has blessed me, and how He is working in mine and my friends' lives! He's just awesome like that..... :) Someday hopefully I will post the two great stories of the past months for your enjoyment and edification.

Resuming...

It's been busy since I got back from TPC, but many great lessons were learned, lots of practical knowledge was bestowed upon me, and I had a great time! Now, back to life as a sorta-senior. Cheers!

An Amusing Musing

So, I've been half thinking about this for a while, and...... wow guys, so I just basically answered my own question. but so that you have a little window into my brain, such as it is, i have been considering recently the moral standing of crude humor. It's ok, you can laugh, just be sure to tell me that you did. Yeah, so I'd just really been wondering if it was morally wrong to, for example, laugh at a "pressure release", as some like to say, since it's just a natural thing, and if someone thinks a noise is funny why shouldn't they laugh? (unless it's an inappropriate time to laugh at all, of course) as much as most, or at least, MANY things which can be encompassed by the term "crude humor" would be wrong but is it really ALL bad? Anyway, that was my pondering until I remembered the verse in Ephesians 4 that says "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth." OH! hey, thinking on the screen here people, so if we want to follow the letter of the law and not the spirit (just sayin') then as long as nobody SAYS anything, it's all good! If it just happens it's funny. But don't crack such jokes yourself, or you'll burn. Okay then! glad that's settled. Nice talkin' with ya'll!!

My Fall Off the Cliff...

So, the main reason why I haven't posted in a while is I have been LOVING the purpose-filled life! (emphasis on the filled part) It's so awesome! and it really makes you feel like a big kid, which is always a bonus... ;)

Well whadaya think o that?!

So, this morning my family and I were reading in Luke, and ran across an interesting section. Luke 7:28 (Jesus speaking about John the Baptist) "I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." What do you think he means?

Music...

It truly is an amazing phenomenon. That sound would be able have such a diverse range of effects on us. When you begin to realize this medium's power is when you (or myself anyway) also see that it is vital that you keep an eye on your intake. Not quantity, but quality. And not quality as in how well it's produced or how good the singer's voice is, but Phillipians 4:8 quality. Songs that are true, songs that are honorable. "whatever is lovely" is a little harder, a discussion for another time perhaps, although I will say that I don't think that means you can thump your text and say one opinion of genres is better than another. Anyway, I would question the honorable nature of album after album of "Oh how I love you baby... ::insert pickup line here::" For a husband and wife to dance to, maybe, but we the underage teens? As much as the music itself is great, you don't normally just hum along with a song you like, you SING! which means saying the words. Words which you wouldn't say any other time. Should we be doing this? Let's talk.....

Blessed Excitement of the Day

God helped to fix my iPod today! I am SOOOO excited that it is finally useful for music again! There was a tons of lint shoved into the headphone jack so that they wouldn't go in all the way. I was able to dig it out with a bit of florist wire. YAY!!!!!

By Gum!

I wish I could say that the creation of this blog has nothing to do with peer pressure. BUT! Only a very small influence did that have. There are always many things that contribute to decisions we make. and with that, I leave to browse my currently content-less new blog! TTFN!
